A California native based in New York, Joanna Forscher is an Emmy Award-winning showrunner and director. Her projects cover a wide range of subjects including geopolitics, immigration, women's rights, crime, history and music. Her work has aired on platforms including PBS, Vice, Hulu, HBO and YouTube Originals. Highlights include helming the Primetime-Emmy nominated series WOMAN with Gloria Steinem and directing the Emmy-winning Creators For Change with Michelle Obama which explored girl’s education and empowerment around the world. Her most recent series Long Time Sun, was an official selection of SXSW 2024.
